Paintings
Monika paints with a group of incredibly talented artists at Artspa. Throughout the year, they meet, create art in various styles and mediums and sometimes participate in collaborative projects in the community. After taking a workshop with Wayne Boucher, one of Nova Scotia’s premier Abstract artists, Monika has become completely infatuated with the process of creating Abstract works of art. The composition becomes so much more critical. Mark making, the placement of paint or any other medium, makes or breaks the composition, while the combination and luminosity of colour become so much more critical when there is no known image for the viewer to fall back on. Her latest work is either entirely abstract or loosely representational.
